Amul’s Turnover Rises 18% To Rs 27,085 Cr In 2016-17


Dairy giant, Amul, on April 1 has reported an 18% growth to Rs 27,085 crore in 2016-17 as against Rs 22,972 crore in 2015-16, in terms of across the board sales increase.

The turnover of the Gujarat Co-operative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF), which markets Amul brand of milk and dairy products, has increased nearly 3.5 times in the past seven years.

R S Sodhi, managing director, GCMMF, said that they have achieved volume sales growth in all product categories. He also affirmed that there was hardly any negative effect of demonetisation on their business.

Amul plans to grow its milk processing capacity to 380 lakh litres per day, from the current 300 lakh litres, in the next three years, said Jethabhai Patel, chairman, GCMMF, while speaking to a leading news agency.
