Currently the lovers of the idiot box are required to bear additional of Rs 10000-15000 cost apart from the expenses for normal television. There are media streaming devices but most of them lack seamless experience. The DTH arm of Bharti Airtel, Airtel Digital TV has come up with an Android-enabled set top box (STB). The subscribers of top 20 cities of the country, thereby will be able to watch internet content on normal television sets other than the satellite channels.
Subscribers can avail seamless experience of both online and offline content.
The STB costs Rs 4999 for the new customers. STB will by-default have movie application Netflix, support casting of youtube content, download applications from Google play store and play games. At Rs 7999, a new customer will get a device with 1 year subscription of nearly 500 channels on the said DTH. The existing customers will get it at Rs 3999 which will include Airtel DTH subscription of a month’s period.
