Benchmark index, Nifty started the week with a record, opening above its crucial levels of 9200. The equity index opened at 9220, up by 46 points or 0.5% in Monday’s opening session.
Indian global telecommunications services company, Bharti Airtel; and Bharti Infratel, provider of tower and related infrastructure on Monday failed to leave their impact on the bourses, opening lower in trade.
Bharti Airtel opened in red at Rs 346, down by Rs 4 per share or 1.1% and Bharti Infratel opened on a flattish note, and soon after turned red, and is down by Rs 6 per share or 1.8% at Rs 319 per share.
Whereas the 30-share Sensex jumped over 150 points, nudging closer to its 30,000 mark. The equity index opened at 29,737 in Monday’s trade.
