Indian bourses opened on a weaker note on Thursday, as U.S. markets and Asian equities also traded weaker. Meanwhile the stocks of Essar Shipping are bucking the trend, taking a vertical climb by over 5%.
On the previous day, it has reported strong operational performance for the last financial year ended March 31, with 22% growth in cargo handling to 11.5 million tonnes (MT). The company's 14-vessel fleet also grew its capacity utilisation to 94% during the period, up from 80% in the previous financial year.
The stock opened at Rs 30.80 per share, touched a high of 31.50 per share; and a low of Rs 29.90 per share.
