Hindalco & Coal India Contribute Most To BSE Metal Index Fall

The metal index is the worst performer in today’s trading session even as the broader market reels under pressure hours before the RBI policy announcement. Globally the markets are trading in red and thus affecting the sentiments here.

Hindalco is down by nearly 3.5%, Hindustan Zinc is down by 1.37%, Coal India is down by 1.34%, Vedanta is down by 1.28%, Sail is down by 1.22%, Nalco is down by 1.19%, Tata Steel is down by 1.17% and JSW Steel is down by 0.5%.

The S&P BSE Metal is down by 1.23% or 147 points at 11811.38 at 1300 hours. Hindalco is the biggest index loser. Hindalco and Coal put together are contributing to almost 64% of the index losses. In the previous three sessions, the BSE metal index rose almost 2.4%.
