Reliance Jio To Work With Open Source Communities To Join ONAP Project

Reliance Jio, led by Mukesh Ambani, to help drive innovation across the telecommunication industry, will be working closely with US-based carrier AT&T, the Linux Foundation and open source communities through the Open Network Automation Platform (ONAP) Project.

Reliance Jio, has joined the ONAP project to work with open source communities. The 4G telecom operator is now a Platinum member of the ONAP project.

The open source community members stand together under the ONAP project, even as ONAP is further differentiated as the fastest-growing open networking initiative endorsed by industry leaders from Asia, Europe and North America.

A world class, all-IP network with 4G LTE technology is already in place for Reliance Jio, a subsidiary of Reliance Industries Limited. Reliance Jio is now the largest operator globally, in terms of data carried across its 4G network spread across the nation.

Jio by joining the ONAP, makes an aggressive statement by reaffirming its dedication to network transformation, which will utilise open source platforms, and will help the company evolve beyond all-IP and 4G LTE networks.
