HUL Likely To Witness Volume Growth As Demonetisation Impact Has Faded Away

The country’s largest consumer packaged goods company by sales, Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL) is going to announce their financial results for the quarter ended March 31, 2017.

The parent company of HUL believes that the country has now recovered from the uncertainty experienced after demonetisation. Therefore, all eyes are on the quarterly results of HUL to see whether volume growth comes back on track.

Consumer demand can be well gauged by the volume growth numbers. The numbers for the quarter ended December 31, 2016, shown decline by 4% on a YoY basis, as reported by the leading business daily.

One of the reasons for the decline in volume growth can be attributed to the adverse impact of cash crunch after demonetisation on the wholesale channel. As now, the demonetisation impact has faded away, the investors out in the market are guessing strong growth in the HUL's latest financial results.

Investors are also keen to check the growth in top line revenues since the inflation in the country is in rising mode. The HUL stock is trading marginally higher by around 0.5% at Rs 1003.15 per share as of 1059 hours on Wednesday.
