Infosys Plan To Hire 10,000 Americans, To Cost Them $1 Billion

Strategic move by the Infosys to hire about 10,000 Americans, which is mere 5% more to its total workforce, might cost the Infosys about $1 billion in wages, reported a leading business daily.

The cost is calculated, assuming $ 100,000 average annual salary to each individual, 40% more salary offered to an immigrant working in Infosys on H-1B visa in America, said the news report.

Reportedly, bills to raise the minimum wage given to IT professionals working on H-1B visa to about $100,000 were put up in front of the US House of Representatives, which is also expected to up the wage bill for most of the Indian IT majors in the US market.

As per the Capitaline data, in 2016-17, Infosys’ expenses stood at Rs 37,659 Crores, 9.5% more than the previous year.
