GMR To Bid For Airport Projects In Serbia, Jamaica


GMR group is exploring an opportunity to increase the company's airports business to many overseas countries. The company plans to bid for the expansion and modernisation of Nikola Tesla Airport of Belgrade in Serbia and Kingston Airport in Jamaica, reported a news agency.

"We are bidding for Belgrade and Jamaica airport," said President, GMR Airports, Sidharth Kapur.

The group is developing the Mactan Cebu international airport in the Philippines in partnership with Megawide Construction Corp. It has also won a bid to build Goa's second airport last year.

GMR Airports Ltd, a subsidiary of GMR Infrastructure Ltd, has won the bid to develop and operate a greenfield airport at Heraklion in Greece with the Greek company GEK Terna as its partner in the project.

Meanwhile, GMR Infrastructure was trading higher by 0.2% at Rs 20.05 per share at 0953 hours IST on BSE.
