Sun Pharma Climbs Over 2% Top Contributor To Index Gains


The BSE Healthcare is the top gaining index on Thursday’s trading session. It was up by 1.7% at 13797. Sun Pharmaceutical Industries is majorly contributing to the index gains.

Sun Pharma was up by 2.4% at Rs 513.55 per share at 12:22 hours IST on BSE. The stock touched a high of Rs 524.40 and a low of Rs 503 so far during the day.

On the NSE, the traded volume of shares is 78,93,601 and the traded value is Rs 40,774.40 lakh. The free float market capitalisation is Rs 55,360.28 crore.

The company’s peers include Lupin, Glenmark Pharmaceuticals and Alkem Laboratories.

It was reported by a leading national news portal on Wednesday that the US arm of Sun Pharma has recalled over 13,000 bottles of antihistamine, children's cetirizine hydrochloride chewable tablets, from the American market for failed specifications.

Sun Pharmaceutical’s business segments include US business, Indian branded generics business, emerging markets, global consumer healthcare business and active pharmaceutical ingredients (API).
