Telecom Stocks Gain On TRAI’s Subscription Report

Major telecom stocks were trading in the green zone during the morning hours on Monday. Bharti Infratel was the top gainer in BSE Telecom index trading higher by 1.37% at Rs 379.95 per share. Vindhya Telelinks Limited was also trading higher by more than 1% at Rs 814 per share. Anil Ambani’s Reliance Communications was the most active telecom stock by volume.

As per Telecom Regulatory Authority of India’s (TRAI) monthly subscription report, Bharti Airtel adds 21 lakh subscribers, Idea Cellular adds 1.9 lakh subscribers, Aircel adds 1.7 lakh subscribers, while Reliance Jio adds 11.2 crore subscribers.

The telecom subscriber base in the country has reached 1,198.89 million in April, but the growth continued its downward trend in line with the slower pace of new customer addition by Reliance Jio.
