Eicher Motors Premium Segment Sales Slump For Fifth Straight Month

Royal Enfield maker, Eicher Motors’ sales backed by strong demand for small engine capacity bikes, posted a 25% rise in the June 2017.

Meanwhile, slowdown continued in its premium segment. The company in its regulatory filing said that in June 2017, the company sold 63,160 units as against 50,682 units in the year-ago period.

Sale of motorcycles upto 350cc capacity engine stood at 58,741 units rising 31%.

On the other hand, for the fifth straight month, the bike makers’ premium segment witnessed a decline as the sales for over 350cc engine capacity dropped 22% to 4,419 units.

Whereas for the first time since January 2016 the company’s exports slumped to stand at 1,489 units in June, 8% lower than a year ago period.
