Ways2Capital Reviews : India Surpasses France As The World’s 6th Largest Economy: World Bank

In some good news for the PM Modi government ahead of the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the World Bank has announced that India has outdone France in becoming the world’s sixth-largest economy. The nation’s GDP was valued at $2.59tn.

However, it isn’t all a matter of celebration as in terms of per capita GDP, India still lags behind France, which is almost 20 times bigger in comparison.

Further, as per the World Bank’s analysis, the Indian economy has been able to post this stupendous growth mainly due to the advances in the manufacturing sector on the back of increased consumer spending.

Meanwhile, data indicates that India is now all set to dethrone United Kingdom from the fifth position.

US and China continue to be the world’s biggest economies, followed by Japan and Germany.
